Manuel ZelayaTegucigalpa, Nov 23.- Constitutional President Manuel Zelaya requested Latin America's statesmen support his country and ratify condemnation to the coup d'etat.

In a letter read by Radio Globo station, Zelaya asked the continent's nations "maintain solidarity with Honduras, reaffirm condemnation to the coup d'etat, and not support a coup regime."

The statesman also said that the current existence of an illegitimate and spurious government in the Central American nation is a disgrace for the region.

The meeting expects to analyze the situation in Honduras after almost five months of the military coup, in which Zelaya called not to adopt ambiguous or imprecise stances, like those of the United States.

According to the Honduran president, that nation's stance faced with the June 28 putsch weakened the process to revert the coup, and showed division of the international community.

Regarding consultations to the November 29 polls in this country, Zelaya stated that putschists try to legitimize the de facto regime with illegitimate elections. (PL).
