Havana, Nov 16.- Havana, which is assessed by travelers worldwide as the main tourist center of the country, turns 490 years of existence on Monday safeguarded by its cultural development and architectural protection.

This place, which was founded on November 16, 1519 under a ceiba, suddenly became a very cosmopolitan city full of travelers from all over the world, who were willing to get to know it deeply.

Havana, as essence of races, represents a very mixed people, where the main origins come from Spain and Africa, but also from China, Haiti, Germany, Hebrew and many other origens.

The town of San Cristobal de La Habana, which its real name is, was founded on the banks of Carenas Harbor after it had an initial settlement in 1515 in the south coast of the country.

Its limits place it in a privileged position for multi-destination vacation trips.

It covers 282,6 square miles and has 15 municipalities, from which nine are urban and from them 1,7 square miles cover the old part, which is the most interesting ( 0,96 square miles are the most visited and restored).
