Havana, Cuba, May 17.- Cuba has very good transplant programs in spite of the blockade imposed on the island by the United States for over half a century now, asserted in this capital Doctor Robert Janus, president of the Latin American Society of Transplant of Organs.

Rose Mary Almanza, who recorded 2:03.41 minutes, won in the women’s 800 meters, surpassing her compatriot Sahily Diago (2:03.72) and local Flavia Maria de Lima ( 2:03.81), the online edition of the sports publication Jit told.

The observance on May 15 of the International Day of Families calls us to reflect about the case of the Cuban Five –antiterrorists unjustly condemned to disproportionate sentences by US courts; an issue which goes beyond the US hostile policy against the island nation and violates fundamental rights present in the Bill of Rights of the northern nation, and in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
